straddles the borders of the departments of Francisco Morazán and Yoro in central Honduras (Figure; COHECO 2003). I was accompanied by my long-time collaborator and field companion, preeminent Honduran herpetologist Larry David Wilson (Miami Dade College). Parque Nacional Montaña de Yoro (PNMY) protects one of the largest remaining intact cloud forest areas in Honduras (total area of park 154.8 km2; 47.24 km2 above 1800 m elevation), and protects some of the highest portions of the Montañas de la Flor, a small mountain range that is home to the last surviving communities of indigenous Tolupan, who continue to utilize their indigenous language and cultural practices (Chapman 1992).
